Saudi holdings of US Treasuries up to $115.7 bln in April

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries rose to $115.7 billion in April 2022, jumping by $0.2 billion month-on-month, new data released by the US Treasury showed.

 

The Kingdom rose to the 17th place among the largest holders of US debt in April.

 

Saudi Arabia’s investments in US Treasuries were distributed among long-term bonds worth $100.39 billion, or 87% of the total, and short-term bonds worth $15.35 billion, accounting for 13%.

Japan was the top holder of US Treasury bonds in April with a value of $1.218 trillion, followed by China with $1.003 trillion, as the following table shows:
