Shura Council calls for resuming wheat cultivation project to achieve self-sufficiency

The Shura Council called on the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to consider resuming the project of wheat cultivation inside the Kingdom using smart irrigation technologies and systems, in order to achieve self-sufficiency and contribute to food security. This was an additional recommendation submitted by Council member. Mosleh Al-Harthy.

 

The Council took its decision after the Committee of Water, Agriculture and Environment reviewed its view towards the members' notes and opinions on the annual report of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture for the fiscal year 1442/1443 AH, Saudi Press Agency reported.

 

The Council called on the Ministry - in coordination with the relevant authorities - to organize the issuance of licenses to practice tourism activity for farms, which was a recommendation made by member Zaher Al-Shahri.
