Research, innovation system turns Saudi Arabia to technology exporter: Alkhorayef

The research, development and innovation system will contribute to regulating the relationship between the innovation and industrial sectors, said Saudi Arabia’s Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources.

 

He added that the system will turn the Kingdom into an exporter of technology and innovation.

 

The ministry's strategy aims to qualify 4,000 factories for adopting the different aspects of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including artificial intelligence (AI) and 3D printing, Alkhorayef said, stressing that the existence of a larger research and development system will help accelerate the industrial sector's adoption of these principles.

 

He added that the industry is the basis for several technologies that are subject to development, research and innovation in order to convert them into industrial products.
