Military Industries’ (GAMI) Governor, Ahmed Al Ohali

The military industries’ localization rate reached 11.7% of the total expenditure on military equipment and services by the end of 2021, the General Authority for Military Industries’ (GAMI) Governor, Ahmed Al Ohali, stated.

During GAMI’s participation in Farnborough International Airshow July 2022 (FIA2022), he added that the authority is concerned with setting the military industries sector's legislation in the Kingdom, as well as its development and localization.

In addition, GAMI is responsible for enabling local and international investors to invest in the sector and contributing to supporting its ambitious localization process.

He stressed the authority keenness to set regulations and legislation that enhance transparency in the sector and encourage investment in it.

It also seeks, with its partners, to enhance the Kingdom's strategic independence and build a sustainable local military industries sector.

Al Ohali pointed out that the manpower strategy will contribute to creating many jobs for Saudis, which will focus on more than 800 required skills, from which 172 job fields emerge.
