The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) is planning to slash Saudi Arabia’s airport fees by up to 35%, indicating that the reduction will apply to Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam airports and will apply this year, Bloomberg reported.

This marks the next step towards privatizing the local aviation sector, Bloomberg cited GACA as saying at the 2022 Farnborough Air Show.

Airports will be given sufficient flexibility to reduce fees below the announced maximum limits to achieve ultimate growth in passenger traffic, it added.
