Methanol Chemicals Co.’s (Chemanol) board of directors accepted, on July 25, the resignation submitted by Ali Al-Asiri (executive) with immediate effect, the company said in a statement to Tadawul.

The resignation was tendered on July 24 as Al-Asiri aims to focus on his CEO duties and the company’s strategy.

The board also approved appointing Sabri Al-Ghamdi (independent) in the vacant seat for the current board term ending Nov. 11, 2024.

The new appointment will be submitted to the upcoming general assembly for approval, Chemanol added.

Al-Ghamdi holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).

He has extensive experience in petrochemical industries, where he held leadership positions in major companies, such as SABIC, Saudi Aramco, and Global Company for Downstream Industries (GDI).
