Saudi Arabia registers price increase in 148 goods, services in July

Prices of 16 goods and services in Saudi Arabia decreased year-on-year (YoY) in July 2022, while prices of 148 out of 169 goods and services rose, data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.

 

Out of the 91 food products, prices of local potatoes recorded the highest rise, up 53.85% YoY. It was followed by imported frozen chicken (DOUX) with a 38.02% increase YoY.

 

On the other hand, Indian cardamom and American cardamom saw the steepest decline YoY at 17.61% and 16.12%, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, prices of 37 construction materials increased YoY in July, while one product declined during the same month.

 

Prices of eight fodder and livestock products increased YoY during the month, while the other three products retreated in the same month.

 

For clothes, nine items under this category saw an increase and one service saw a decrease.

 

All four personal services saw a YoY rise in July.

 

Prices of all three detergents increased last month compared to the same period previous year.

 

Elsewhere, two out of three healthcare services were up in the same period.

 

In addition, prices of one out of two services under the maintenance and repair of personal means of transportation grew YoY.

 

The prices of hotel and furnished apartment services rose annually in July.

 

Under tobacco, prices of Marlboro cigarettes increased by 0.57% per pack YoY.
