Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority (TGA) said that all licensed car rental firms are required to buy cars only for rental purposes. Licensed firms are banned from selling new vehicles, Okaz newspaper reported, citing a TGA letter.

This aligns with the car rentals regulations that aims to regulate car rentals and car rental brokerage business in the Kingdom.

Last May, the Ministry of Commerce announced suspending car rental companies from selling new cars, taking advantage of rising prices, Argaam earlier reported.
