Saudi Arabia’s Real Estate General Authority (REGA) issued the executive regulations of the law of real estate registration, which is concerned with the documentation of land and real estate properties and explains all the details and procedures of the law.

The authority will assume the competence and supervision of the new law, which contributes to raising the efficiency and flexibility of the registration procedures under the law in cooperation with the concerned government agencies, as it works to increase transparency and reliability in the sector and reduce real estate disputes, REGA said in a statement.

Granting real estate ownership absolute authority in proof is one of the most important features stipulated in the law, which in turn contributes to service public interest and property owners of all segments.

The new law also indicates the procedures for the disposal of off-plan real estate properties, registration fees, penalties and controls for the surveying work related to the in-kind registration of the property.

Land and real estate property registration is one of the priorities of the cabinet-approved comprehensive strategy for the real estate sector, the statement added.

This contributes to establishing an electronic real estate register of land and property and achieves the third pillar of the strategy in highlighting the effectiveness of the market; to be vital, attractive and give confidence to the participants, the authority added.
