Naseej International Trading Co.’s board of directors approved today, Sept. 12, adopting the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) model to manage production as well as commercial units, according to a bourse filing.
The step came within the company’s restructuring efforts to boost production, sales and profitability.
The SBU method will be implemented by dividing the production and sales divisions into three strategic units, namely a strategic unit for the yarn factory, besides one for rug and carpet operations, and another for wholesale, retail sales, and project contracts.
Each unit manager is entitled to map out the related development plans, including an executive plan for a potential spinoff and partnerships to fulfill the unit’s goals, in addition to studies on a possible bourse listing.
The relevant financial impact cannot be identified at present, the statement added.
