Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) launched a new strategic project, Aramco Global AI Corridor, President and CEO Amin Nasser said at the Global AI Summit.

The project is still in early stages, he added.

"The Corridor is designed to develop and commercialize complex AI solutions, to train Saudi talent, support Saudi start-ups, and, together with global partners, build a local AI ecosystem. This will include an AI Delivery Factory, AI Academy, AI Venturing Studio, and unique R&D AI labs,” Nasser said.

In the metaverse virtual world, Saudi Aramco is ready to strongly access and excel in the field of AI, as it happens in the energy sector.

Elsewhere, Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) told Asharq Bloomberg that Aramco signed an agreement with California Institute of Technology (Caltech) to establish an artificial intelligence (AI) corridor at a total cost of SAR 250 million ($67 million).
