Saudi Cabinet meeting

The Saudi Cabinet, in a session chaired today by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, reiterated the Kingdom’s interest in enhancing the competitiveness of national human capabilities locally and globally, through maximizing values, developing basic and future skills, and developing knowledge, Saudi Press Agency reported.

It cited the Kingdom's progress in the Human Development Index (HDI) issued by the United Nations Development Program report for the year 2022.

The Cabinet also reviewed the economic and structural reforms that were implemented within the framework of Vision 2030, and their role in strengthening the Saudi economy and overcoming various challenges that the world has faced over the past two years. This was evident in the performance of non-oil activities and on the gross domestic product until the end of the second quarter of this year 2022.

Furthermore, the Cabinet commended the inauguration of the port of Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries, which represents a new logistical platform for the Kingdom that contributes to developing industrial capabilities and increasing the penetration of Saudi exports to global markets, to achieve the vision's goals.

The Cabinet also approved that the board of directors of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu has the authority to set the competition and procurement regulations for Jazan City for Basic and Transformation Industries, in accordance with the relevant provisions contained in Royal Decree No. (M/75), dated 16/9/1395H before amending it.
