GACA issues August report on performance of local, international airports

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) issued its report about the performance of local and international airports in Saudi Arabia for August 2022.

 

GACA depends on 14 operational performance standards, in line with the strategic objectives of enhancing passenger services quality and improving the experience of passengers through the Kingdom’s imports.

 

King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah were among other airports that were in leading positions in GACA’s report.

 

For international airports, where the number of passengers exceeds 15 million passengers annually, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh came in first with a compliance percentage of 82%, followed by King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah (45%).

 

In the second category of international airports with passengers number ranging between five to 15 million annually, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport ranked first with a compliance rate of 82%. King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) in Dammam came second with a 73% compliance rate.

 

In international airports with two million to five million passengers annually, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport in Jizan took the first place, achieving 88% compliance. Abha International Airport came second with 75%.

 

AlUla International Airport ranked first among international airports with less than one million passengers annually with100% compliance.

 

For domestic airports, Najran Airport came first, achieving a score of 100%, outperforming all competing airports in the total average waiting times for departues and arrivals.

 

In evaluating the performance of airports, GACA relies on 14 operational criteria, including the waiting times for passengers and the time spent by passengers in baggage handling, in accordance with international best practices.
