Domestic labor from The Philippines accounts for nearly 30%-40% of Saudi Arabia’s domestic worker market, Al-Yaum newspaper reported, citing sources close to recruitment agencies.

Recruitment costs are expected to be no less than SAR 20,000, the sources added, citing higher costs in the Asian country over the last period.

The resumption of Filipino domestic workers recruitment is an important step to diversify domestic labor sources in the Kingdom.

Saudi Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmad Al Rajhi inked a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) with Secretary of the Philippines Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Susan Ople to resume recruitment from the Philippines, including domestic workers, Argaam reported.
