GACA issues August classification for air transport service providers, airports

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) issued an index to classify air transport service providers and airports based on the number of complaints filed by travelers to the authority during August 2022.

 

The total complaints lodged by passengers to GACA during August increased to 1,636, compared with 378 a year earlier.

 

Saudi Airlines came in with the least complaints with 15 complaints per 100,000 passengers, with a closure rate of these complaints amounting to 92%. Flynas ranked second, with 25 complaints, recording a closure rate of 93%. Meanwhile, flyadeal came third with 64 complaints per 100,000 passengers, recording a closure rate of 42%.

 

The most popular classification of complaints for August came about canceling and withdrawing the ticket fees.

 

Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport recorded the lowest complaints for every 100,000 passengers with one complaint in the international airports that receive more than six million passengers annually, with a closure rate of 100%.

 

Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz International Airport came with the lowest complaints for every 100,000 passengers with one complaint in the international airports that receive less than six million passengers annually, with a closure rate of 100%.

 

Locally, Najran Airport recorded the lowest complaints for every 100,000 passengers with four complaints (a closure rate of 100%).
