King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued three royal decrees today, Sept. 27, reshuffling the Kingdom’s Cabinet and appointing Yousef Al Benyan as Minister of Education.
The following is an overview of Al Benyan’s biography:
He is still Vice Chairman and CEO of Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) in 1987; a Master's Degree in Industrial Management from the University of Bridgeport in 1996 and obtained an Executive Certificate from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 2006.
Experience and Positions:
- CEO and Vice Chairman of SABIC.
- Chairman of SABIC Agri-Nutrients Co.
- Board member of Saudi Tadawul Group.
- Chairman of Yanbu National Petrochemicals Co. (Yansab) (2015 – 2020).
- Chairman of Saudi Iron & Steel Co. (Hadeed) (2017 – 2019).
- Board member of Jubail Water and Power Co. (2012 – 2015) .
- Deputy CFO of SABIC (2015) .
- Deputy CEO for Petrochemicals at SABIC (2013 – 2015).
- Chairman of Yansab and Al-Jubail Petrochemical Co. (Kemya) (2012 – 2014).
- Executive Vice President of Human Resources at SABIC (2008 – 2013).
