Ministry of Education clarifies most significant features of recently approved ‘educational visa’

The Saudi Cabinet recently issued a decision to introduce long-term and short-term educational visas granted to students, researchers, visiting trainees, and experts for academic study, research visit, language study, training, and others.

The educational visa aims to attract distinguished talents, raise the quality of the educational process and the outputs of research and innovation. In addition, the new visa aims at raising the ranking and efficiency of Saudi educational institutions globally and increasing the Kingdom's contribution to the dissemination of the values of moderation and teaching the Arabic language, the Ministry of Education said in a statement.

The ministry explained that the visa includes a short-term visa for study programs of up to one academic year, and a long visa for long educational programs.

The advantages of the visa are represented in facilitating the procedures of enrollment in the Kingdom, and the absence of the need for a sponsor, in addition to the possibility of coming with the family (spouse and children), the Saudi ministry noted.
