The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources reviewed the investment opportunities in Mohaddad mining site, during an online symposium held with the Ministry of Investment and the US Saudi Business Council.

The site, located south of Bisha governorate, Asir, covers an area estimated at more than 139 square meters (sqm). It is about 456 sqm from Jazan Port. The site also has a geological composition that includes mineral deposits of ores copper, zinc, gold and lead, according to a statement.

The ministry also reviewed the financial incentives offered by the Kingdom to investors in the mining sector, as well as the exploration opportunities and major minerals in the mining site. It clarified that the tendering will be subject to two stages: pre-qualification, as well as submitting technical tenders and environmental and community plans.

This comes in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, by exploiting the great opportunities for the potentials of the mining sector, to be the third pillar of the national industry, the statement added.

The Ministry of Industry announced in September awarding the license of exploring Khnaiguiyah mining site to the consortium of Moxico Resources Ltd. and Ajlan & Bros. Mining Co., according to Argaam's data.
