The Idle Lands Program issued last week invoices for 69 land plots with an area above 17 million square meters for the sixth round of the first phase in Makkah within the announced urban scope, Saudi Press Agency reported.
Total invoices of over 14,500 were issued since the program’s launch across different cities, including the sixth round of the land fees program in Makkah.
The program urged landowners to develop their lands or pay fees within one year from the date of issuing the decision to avoid fines that may reach 100% of the value of the fee, in addition to paying the due fees.
It also indicated that the mechanism of assessing the value of the land and the due fees can be checked on the program’s website.
The invoices are considered contracts, concessions and penal releases according to the state revenue system, said the program, noting that Article No. 15 of the executive regulations for idle land fees stipulates that the amounts collected be spent on developing infrastructure projects.
