Qassim Municipality’s Governor, Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Majli, signed an investment agreement to lease land plots to Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC). The utility will build renewable energy projects on a total area of over 23 million square meters (sqm) in Al Badayea city.
The renewables project includes generation, transmission and steam plants as well as landfill sites, the state-owned SPA reported today, Oct. 27.
The projects aim to benefit from the power generated by any renewables source, including the solar (photovoltaic and concentrated solar power), wind and waste energy.
