MAWANI records 11% rise in TEUs in Q3 2022

Saudi ports reported an 11% rise in containers handled to 1.98 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in Q3 2022 from 1.79 million TEUs in the corresponding period of 2021.

 

In a statement, the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) said that cargo volumes jumped 12% to 82.6 million tons in the third quarter, from 74.02 million tons in Q1 2021.

 

Total tonnage of foodstuffs climbed by 32% year-on-year (YoY) to 6.35 million tons in Q3 2022.

 

The Saudi ports received 186,870 passengers in Q3 2022, and a total of 827,290 heads of livestock to meet local market needs.
