Saudi Arabia will launch 10 renewable energy projects in 2023, Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said during the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) Forum today.

The Kingdom has more than 13 projects with a combined capacity of nearly 11.4 gigawatts with total investments of up to SAR 34 billion.

These projects will reduce carbon emissions by almost 12 million tons annually.

Prince Abdulaziz added that Saudi Arabia is committed to carbon neutrality by 2060, depending on technology. Saudi Arabia hopes to achieve this at an earlier time.

By January 2023, Saudi Arabia will launch greenhouse gas (GHG) crediting and offsetting scheme, or a greenhouses gas market.
