Saudi Arabia plans to launch a circular carbon economy (CCE) knowledge center in January 2023, as a regional knowledge collaboration platform, Saudi Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman told the Saudi Green Initiative Forum held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

The move aims to activate the region's efforts of achieving the Middle East Green Initiative goals, he added.

The center also aims to spread awareness about CCE, facilitate access to information, and support the climate goals.

Further, the minister said the Kingdom worked with the Economic Commission for Western Asia (ECWA) to establish a regional hub to reduce carbon emissions, which will be launched in Riyadh in 2023.

The Kingdom will host the Middle East and North Africa Climate Week in 2023, the minister concluded.
