Governor of Riyadh Prince Faisal bin Bandar inaugurated, on Nov. 14, the international terminals three and four at King Khalid International Airport.

The inauguration was attended by Minister of Transport Saleh Al-Jasser and President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Abdulaziz Al-Duailej.

The two terminals are designed to operate in a flexible manner to improve passenger services and facilitate travel procedures. The number of travel gates is 22, supported by 95 dedicated check-in counters and 12 self-service machines.

The terminals also include the latest technology to raise the level of operational services at the airport. The aviation yard was designed to accommodate wide-body aircraft, adding a competitive advantage that qualifies the two terminals to receive giant carriers.

The terminals also allow increased commercial spaces allocated to retail stores, duty free shops, restaurants and cafes, along with three business lounges.

GACA’s head said that the two terminals will be an important addition to the components of the airport and will support the total capacity of the airport with 13 million passengers annually. This expansion is the beginning of further expansions and future developments coming to the capital's airport, according to a comprehensive plan, Al-Duailej pointed.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Transport stated that the two terminals will contribute to supporting international travel, which coincides with the launch of the FIFA World Cup 2022, and the achievement of the national strategy for transport and logistics.
