Industrial, energy security go together; region on verge of major projects: Aramco CEO

Amin H. Nasser, President and CEO of Saudi Aramco

Industrial security is tied to energy security, Saudi Aramco President and CEO Amin H. Nasser said, adding that the region is on the verge of major industrial projects and investments, where industrial security plays an important role.

Achieving security for industrial sectors, and for vital infrastructure for crude oil, gas, chemicals and energy fields, in general, is a key factor in the world's energy supply and in promoting development as a whole, Nasser at the 10th ASIS Middle East conference.

Over the past few decades, the security of critical infrastructure in the Middle East witnessed a significant development compared to many other regions in the world, he noted.

"The world has turned into a small village that we look at and monitor its movement thanks to the communications and information revolution and the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its applications, where targeting crossings and global transport channels has an impact and resonance on the movement of trade and the flow of supplies around the world", Nasser said.

He stressed that the company, in a security risk management approach, implements cost-effective and appropriate security measures to mitigate risks to ensure business continuity.

According to a press release obtained by Argaam, Saudi Aramco is signing five memorandums of understanding (MoUs) during the conference, including:
