Jeddah Islamic Port
Saudi Arabia’s merchandize imports rose by 20% year-on-year (YoY) in August to SAR 61.02 billion, according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Imports grew month-on-month (MoM) by SAR 3.78 billion, or 7%, in August.

The increase in the Kingdom’s imports in August was driven by a 24% YoY hike in its imports of machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical equipment and parts thereof, in addition to imports of other products.

China topped the Kingdom's list of exporters with SAR 13.04 billion, accounting for 21% of the total value of Saudi imports in August.
The US and UAE followed in the second and third positions at 7% and 6%, respectively.
