Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) announced extending the initiative to cancel fines and exempt taxpayers from penalties for additional six months, starting Dec. 1, 2022, until May 31, 2023.

The extension comes to enable taxpayers to benefit from the initiative, and achieve its goals, mainly mitigating the economic impact on corporations from COVID-19 pandemic, said the authority.

In June, ZATCA announced the re-launch of an initiative to cancel fines and exempt taxpayers from penalties from June 1 to Nov. 30, 2022, to mitigate the economic fallout of COVID-19, according to data available with Argaam.
