Telecom major stc announced today, Dec. 6, that it received a notification from the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) of winning the auction of frequency spectrum in the 2100MHz band for non-terrestrial networks.

It will provide communications services on aircraft and mobile communications services via satellite (MSS).

The company won the auction that was organized and supervised by CST on Nov. 30, with all the frequencies offered for auction (2 x 30) MHz to provide non-terrestrial network services for a period of 15 years starting 2023.

It pointed out that these frequencies are an additional investment aimed at providing mobile communications services, in-flight broadband internet access via air-to-ground (A2G) solution and mobile communications services via satellites (MSS).
