Saudi ports reported a 8% rise in containers handled to 631,200 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in November 2022, compared to 582,800 TEUs in the same month last year.
In a statement, the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) said that outbound containers increased by 11% to 183,000 TEUs in November 2022, compared to the same period a year earlier. Meanwhile, inbound containers rose 13% to above 189,000 TEUs, compared to November, 2021.
Transshipment containers also increased by 4% to 259,100 TEUs, compared to 249,500 TEUs in November, 2021.
Saudi ports handled 186 million tons of foodstuff cargo, a rise of 19% compared to November, 2021.
