Saudi Arabia registers price increases in 117 goods, services in November

Prices of 46 goods and services in Saudi Arabia decreased year-on-year (YoY) in November, while prices of 117 out of 169 goods and services rose, data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.
 

Out of the 92 food products, prices of medium local potatoes recorded the highest rise, up 56.89% YoY. It was followed by local eggs, with a 43.83% YoY increase.

 

On the other hand, American and Indian cardamom saw the steepest decline YoY at 19.33% and 15.39%, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, prices of 38 construction materials surged YoY in November, while 14 others declined during the same month.

 

Prices of 13 fodder and livestock products soared YoY during the month, while one product retreated in the same month.

 

For clothes, eight items saw an increase, while two items saw a decline.

 

All four personal services saw a YoY rise in November.

 

Prices of all three detergents climbed up last month compared to the same period of the previous year.

 

Elsewhere, two healthcare services were down in the same period, while only one declined.

 

In addition, prices of one out of two services under the maintenance and repair of personal means of transportation grew YoY.

 

Prices of both hotel and furnished apartment services rose YoY in November.

 

Under the tobacco products category, prices of Marlboro cigarettes fell YoY.
