Saudi Arabia’s merchandize imports surged by 39% year-on-year (YoY) in October to SAR 63.9 billion, according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Imports rose by SAR 2.76 billion, or 5%, in October, compared to September.

The YoY increase in the Kingdom’s imports in October was driven by a SAR 5.8 billion, or 111%, rise in its vehicles, aircraft, vessels and associated transport equipment. In addition, machinery and mechanical appliances; electrical equipment; parts thereof rose by SAR 2.48 billion, or 25%, YoY.

The US and the UAE took the second and third positions with a share of 9% and 6%, respectively.
The top 10 exporters to Saudi Arabia accounted for 62.7%, or SAR 40.04 billion, of the Kingdom's total imports in October.
