Northern Cement appoints new board member

Northern Region Cement Co. approved the appointment of independent board member Ahmed Abdulrhman Al-Ubaid, effective as of today, Jan. 9, until the end of the current term on March 15, 2023, the company said in a statement to Tadawul.

Al-Ubaid participated in the management and development of a number of industrial projects over the past 20 years in Saudi Aramco, Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) and other companies. His experience included project development, operations, financing and acquisition.

Al-Ubaid also served as a board member in a number of private companies.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder, a Master's degree in business administration, and Master's degree in finance from the University of Denver, USA.

The board decision is pending the shareholders’ approval, the statement noted.
