Tihama Advertising and Public Relations Co. said that the General Authority for Competition (GAC) filed an appeal before Riyadh’s Administrative Court to challenge the decision of the Committee for Adjudication of Competition Law Violations to dismiss the lawsuit against the company.

The Administrative Court set Jan. 11 as date for hearing the lawsuit, Tihama said in a statement to Tadawul.

GAC previously filed a lawsuit before the adjudication committee against Tihama, demanding a fine not exceeding 10% of the total sales and not less than SAR 10 million, when it is impossible to estimate the sales.

The committee's general secretariat decided on March 29, 2022, to dismiss the lawsuit against Tihama, due to lack of evidence.

Tihama hired an external lawyer to respond to the lawsuit and defend its interests, it added, noting that it is too early to determine the financial impact of the case.

Any relevant updates will be reported in due course, the company concluded.
