New regulations aim to develop tourism sector, attract investments: Official

The new regulations issued by the Ministry of Tourism, in coordination with many related authorities, aim to develop the sector and go in tandem with the advancement witnessed by the Kingdom in various fields, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Abdul-Majeed Al-Nasser, Investor Relations Head at the Ministry.

 

He added that the regulations aim to promote the quality of services provided and protect tourist rights, in addition to supporting the sector and increasing job opportunities.

 

The regulations include the tourist hospitality facility, travel and tourism services, tourist guidance, management of tourist hospitality facilities, tourism consultancy, private tourism hospitality facility, experimental activities, inspection of tourism activities, committees to consider violations of the tourism system, and tourist destinations.

 

Al-Nasser highlighted the ministry's keenness to receive investor suggestions and its role to overcome the obstacles facing them.

 

In December 2022, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb announced new regulations to develop the tourism sector and safeguard tourists. The regulations aim to ensure that the sector maintains pace with the renaissance that the Kingdom is witnessing in various fields. They also reflect the ministry’s efforts to achieve the goals of development strategy for tourism in the country, according to data available with Argaam.
