Saudi Arabia does not compete with regional countries, Princess Haifa Al Saud, Deputy Minister of Tourism, told CNN.

Competition is good and healthy, she stated, adding the region is a point of attraction for the world.

“We are stronger together,” Princess Haifa noted.

Saudi Arabia aims to increase the tourism sector's contribution to GDP, create jobs and solve the unemployment issue, she said, noting that tourism is among the country’s top priorities.

The tourism sector’s contribution to Saudi GDP reached 5.3% in 2022, which is projected to increase to 10% of GDP by 2030, according to data available on Argaam.
