Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) will soon unveil the “Your Ticket is a Visa” program, which allows its passengers to enter Saudi Arabia for 96 hours for tourism or Umrah, News24 reported, citing Spokesperson Abdullah AlShahrani.
The new program will allow visitors to link their visa to the ticket issue stage, he said.
A ticket buyer will be asked about the need for a visa, and if it is required then the procedure can be completed in less than three minutes from the same site without visiting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
The program aims for Saudi Arabia to become a destination for many Islamic communities during their travels, particularly the city of Jeddah, to perform Umrah and then complete their journey. However, the program is not limited to Jeddah airport, but includes all international airports.
AlShahrani stressed that the “Your Ticket is a Visa” program will add to the demand for international flights to Saudi Arabia, expressing the readiness of the carrier in its plan for the current year to meet increased demand for international flights by 40%.
New destinations are expected to be added and announced soon, he said.
