SPARK, King Salman Complex for Maritime Industries forecast to contribute SAR 85 bln to GDP: Official

King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) and King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industries and Services are expected to contribute nearly SAR 85 billion to Saudi Arabia’s gross domestic product (GDP), Jamil Al-Bagawi, Senior Vice President at Saudi Aramco.

 

SPARK and the maritime complex are likely to create 180,000 direct and indirect jobs, Al-Bagawi added in a speech at the Municipal Investment Forum (FURAS).

 

According to Argaam data, SPARK is located between Dammam and Al-Ahsa in the Eastern Province. The project will be developed in three phases on a total area of 50 square kilometers. SPARK will be divided into five main zones: industrial zone, dry port and logistics zone, business district, training centers and residential and commercial complexes.  

 

King Salman Complex is located in Ras Al Khair. It is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco, Bahri, Lamprell, and Hyundai Heavy Industries. The complex is expected to cost more than SAR 20 billion.
