The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) unveiled the details of the Saudi Cabinet’s decision on extending the exemption of small-sized enterprises, where at least nine workers including the owner are employed, from expat levy.

The decision aims at supporting the growth and sustainability of small-sized enterprises, HRSD said on Twitter.

The decision requires owners to be insurance covered and full-time dedicated.

Workers exempted from fees include two expatriates, if the owner is insurance covered and full-time dedicated, or four expatriates if the owner and a Saudi employee are insured, the tweet added.

Earlier this week, the Cabinet approved extending clauses II and III of its decision on three-year exemption of small-sized enterprises, where at least nine workers including the owner, are employed, from expat levy for one year only, Argaam reported earlier.
