Bulgaria backs Saudi Arabia's bid to host Expo 2030

The Bulgarian Cabinet decided to support Saudi Arabia's bid to host the World Expo 2030, commending the historical relations and joint ties between the two countries. 

 

The Bulgarian government also highlighted the progress witnessed by the Kingdom. It said the main characteristic of the Saudi candidacy for Expo 2030 is "The dynamic development of the Kingdom and the wide application of new technologies, along with preserving traditions and commitment to combating climate change." 

 

Riyadh is competing with Italy's Rome, South Korea's Busan and Ukraine's Odesa. The host country for the 2030 Expo is expected to be selected in November.
