Saudi Arabia’s transshipments rose to 32% of total operations in the region, compared to 12% three years earlier, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Saleh Al Jasser, told Asharq Business.

The Kingdom launched 17 international maritime lines in the last two years, to link more ports, boost exports and imports and facilitate transition to other countries.

On rail transport, Al Jasser added that the tonnage of railways in 2022 was intended to take almost 2 million trucks off the Kingdom’s roads, which, in turn, enhanced safety and environment protection.
