Saudi Arabia’s media is on the verge of radical changes across all fields, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Majid Alkassabi, Minister of Commerce and Acting Minister of Media.

The sector will provide several opportunities and partnerships with the private sector and international organizations and act as a platform for innovation and talent, he added.

Saudi Arabia General Commission For Audiovisual Media (GCAM) will focus on improving the legislative regulations of the media sector, boosting the investment environment and developing compliance, the minister said on the sidelines of the 2nd edition of Saudi Media Forum in Riyadh.

There is an ample opportunity that the sector will increase its gross domestic product (GDP) contribution, enhance the local content, and open new horizons for startups, Alkassabi noted.
