Saudi Aramco is considering an investment in a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility outside Saudi Arabia, as global demand for fuel soars, Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed sources with knowledge of the matter.
The world’s largest oil exporter is in early discussions with a LNG plant to acquire a stake and secure supplies through an off-take agreement.
Aramco is considering projects in the US and Asia, one of the sources said. Its preference would be for a facility that can easily ship the super-chilled fuel to Asia, another source added.
