Roads General Authority completes transfer of roads operations, management

Saudi Arabia’s Roads General Authority (RGA) announced completing the transfer of roads operations and management between the transport and logistics services system and the municipal, rural, and housing affairs system.  

This comes in implementation of the Cabinet's decision, said the authority.  

The municipal affairs system will assume responsibility for roads within the urban scope, while the transport system will take over roads outside the urban scope.  

Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Saleh Al-Jasser said that the transfer of responsibility for roads comes as part of reforms witnessed by the transport and logistics sector to improve governance, raise the efficiency of the roads network, and boost the quality and safety levels in order to achieve the goals of the National Transport Strategy.
