Saudi Arabia is an important market for TikTok in the Arab region and of great significance for the short-form video hosting service platform, Aref Yehia, Head of Business Partnerships for Retail & E-Commerce at TikTok, MENA told Argaam on the sidelines of the Retail Leaders Circle Forum in Riyadh.
He revealed that the number of users on the platform had exceeded one billion users globally, noting that the content in the Kingdom and the Arab region is witnessing a significant and continuous increase.
Moreover, TikTok is a video-sharing platform for entertainment and should not be compared with social media platforms, Yehia stated.
Therefore, he added that TikTok is positioned differently from these platforms and aims to establish partnerships in the region and globally.
Yehia explained that the platform operates in the Kingdom by creating partnerships in several sectors to help companies achieve their marketing objectives.
Moreover, the company is keen to ensure genuine partnerships in the market and the region.
He added that the retail and e-commerce sector is performing well on the platform.
The e-commerce sector is the key beneficiary from its presence on the platform in the Kingdom and the region. Other sectors, such as sports, food, beauty and fashion, and companies, are also keen to comprehend the user communities of the platform.
Yehia indicated that the platform cares more about the content than numbers and seeks to achieve the goals of both users and the brand or product.
