Saudi Arabia scrapped previous conditions for granting tourist visas to GCC residents of certain professions, Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al Khateeb, said.
The Kingdom welcomes all GCC residents. The visa application is now simpler, more convenient and straightforward for residents of GCC states, regardless of their profession, he added.
Last year, Saudi Arabia allowed GCC residents of certain occupations to apply for tourist visa online, Argaam earlier reported.
The visa fee stands at SAR 300 plus the value of medical insurance. Visa holders are allowed to perform Umrah.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said all GCC residents can now enter the Kingdom with an e-tourist visa by applying on the Visit Saudi platform. They must hold a valid visa for at least three months. This includes the first-degree relatives of the visa holder and the related domestic workers.
The tourist visa regulations, issued by the ministry, states that all tourists should comply with the applicable rules in the Kingdom. The tourist visa holders are not allowed to perform Hajj, or Umrah during the Hajj season, the ministry added.
