HRSD Ministry begins localization of optics sector today

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) started today, March 18, localizing the optics sector across the Kingdom.  

In June 2022, the ministry decided to Saudize the optics professions by 50% in all private establishments operating in the Saudi market and having four employees or more. The relevant target professions include medical optics technician, physics laboratory technician, light and optics, and optics technician. 

The ministry added that it will offer a bundle of incentives and support for private establishments to help them employ Saudis, including support for finding appropriate employees, the necessary training and qualification process and stable jobs among nationals. In addition, the ministry will also help these establishments benefit from all localization support program as well as other employment and support programs through the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf).

Further, the HRSD ministry issued a guidelines, explaining the decision and application mechanism details.
