Oil tanks
US crude oil inventories retreated against forecasts for the week ended March 24, with gasoline inventories also down during the same period, data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed.
Crude oil stocks shed 7.5 million barrels by the end of the week, versus expectations of a 1.8-million-barrel jump.
Likewise, gasoline inventories contracted by 2.9 million barrels, while distillate stocks saw a 300,000-barrel leap.
