HRSD Ministry expands localization of new professions

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) announced the localization of a new set of activities and professions in the Kingdom.

This includes the localization of project management, procurement and sales professions, as well as outlets providing services for shipping activities and freight brokers, in addition to outlets for decor and women’s tailoring.

The localization of these new professions will be carried out in several stages throughout the Kingdom, with the aim of providing more productive job opportunities for Saudi citizens and raising the level of their participation in the labor market, the ministry said in a statement.

The localization of project management professions includes project management managers and project management specialists, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing. The decision will be implemented in two phases: the first by 35% and the second by 40% of the total number of workers in project management professions in establishments employing three or more workers, with the minimum wage set at SAR 6,000.

Furthermore, a total of 14 activities have been localized in and outlets providing services for shipping activities and freight brokers, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services and the Transport General Authority.

The ministry announced the start of implementing the second phases of the localization of mail and parcel transportation activities, as well as the medical devices sector from April 1.
