The Nitaqat Mutawar Program announced the results of the first and second phases, as it achieved positive results during the first year of its launch, with the number of Saudi men and women working in the private sector exceeding 2.1 million by the end of 2022.
In a statement, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) said the number of Saudis who joined the labor market reached more than 277,000, or 80% of the target.
The program continued, after the launch of its second phase, to achieve HRSD's strategic goals, as nearly 35,000 Saudi men and women joined the labor market during the first quarter of 2023. This brings the number of Saudis working in the private sector to more than 2.23 million, as the program contributed with other HRSD programs and initiatives to reduce the unemployment rate to historical levels at 8%.
The ministry stated that the program aims to stimulate the private sector establishments to localize jobs and ensure the continuity of Saudis working in the labor market.
