King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued directives today, April 9, on extending the Citizen Account Program in the current mechanism, and providing temporary additional support to its beneficiaries for four months until July 2023.

Registration in the citizen account program will also remain opened to help insulate eligible households against the repercussions of higher global prices.

The decision was taken on the recommendations made by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on maintaining additional support for the program beneficiaries.

The move aligns with the royal order issued in July 2022 on allocating SAR 20 billion to help citizens mitigate the impacts of rising global prices. A total of SAR 8 billion of the total amount were earmarked as additional support for the program beneficiaries until the end of 2022, based on the previously-announced rules. Registration in the citizen’s account program reopened.
